Ran out of storage space; storing goods outside under tarps; heavy steel pallets required high load capacity.
Engineered 1-tonne/m2 mezzanine with concrete foundations tied into existing office stairs; installed pallet gates and balustrades for safety.
SI Retail, a major supplier of specialised retail shelving systems, was running out of storage space and resorting to keeping goods in their car park under tarps. With heavy steel pallets arriving in bulk shipments from overseas, they needed a durable indoor storage solution that could handle extreme weight loads. They brought in FMF to design and construct a 1-tonne per square metre mezzanine, complete with concrete foundations engineered to handle the load. The structure tied seamlessly into their existing office staircase by creating a direct access point through the office wall, which also served as a fire exit. Pallet gates and balustrades were installed for safe loading and unloading. The result was a high-capacity, heavy-duty storage area that eliminated weather exposure, avoided the cost and disruption of relocating, and allowed SI Retail to hold more stock on hand for high-volume customers.
