Before this project, Bailey Print Group was looking to expand into a new facility—one that not only accommodated their current operations, but also set them up for long-term growth. “We’re looking for a brand new facility,” explained Peter Bailey, Founder of Bailey Print Group. “Mark came along and helped us build our final solution—and here it is.”

The goal was to transform an empty, tilt-slab building into a multifaceted production hub. Bailey Print Group required a space that could house their sensitive printing and finishing machines upstairs, while supporting a vehicle wrapping bay, workshop, and storage area downstairs. The challenge lay in creating a clean, climate-controlled production floor at a high elevation while efficiently utilizing the ground-level floor space.

Collaborative Design from the Ground Up

From the outset, our team worked closely with Peter and his staff to craft a custom mezzanine solution that met their specific needs. “We both shared that design,” Peter recalled. “Mark showed us past projects that he completed, and we were very happy with what he had for us. The design we came up with was basically a collaboration between the two of us, and we’re very happy with it.”

This collaborative spirit extended beyond the mezzanine structure itself. As Peter noted, “The staircase design…we both shared that design.” Every element—from the staircase layout to the safety gates and pallet access points—was carefully planned and refined through multiple CAD drawings and engineering reviews. The back-and-forth process, spanning about three to three-and-a-half months, ensured that every detail aligned with Bailey Print Group’s operational requirements and future goals.

Solving Challenges for Long-Term Success

One of the primary challenges was ensuring that the mezzanine’s upper level provided a controlled environment. By dedicating the entire upstairs space to production, we helped Bailey Print Group maintain the ideal temperature and cleanliness standards for their sensitive printing and finishing machinery. Downstairs, the focus turned to maximizing utility: a full vehicle wrapping bay, a workshop area, and ample storage space.

The installation itself was completed efficiently and professionally. As Peter stated, “Installation was completed within 14 days.” By working swiftly and effectively, we minimized downtime and helped Bailey Print Group transition into their new, optimized facility as smoothly as possible.

While cost is always a consideration, Bailey Print Group prioritized long-term value. “When looking at price, price does come into it, but this is a long-term project for us… We’re looking to get 30-40 years out of this building,” Peter shared. “At the end of the day, we were looking for quality of product, quality of finish, and a really good design where we can put any machinery anywhere on this mezzanine at any time over those years.”
